Hi, i'm spending three days in akasaka in tokyo next week. I'm on a pretty tight schedule, but hoping to do some sight seeing. I'm looking for a recomendation for some good local food and some things to see in the evenings, after work, thanks very much.

  2. will your company pick up the tab? tokyo has lots of michelin starred restaurants.

  3. there are many, many things to do

just walk out on the street ! Tokyo

    is unbelievable and you will

    really enjoy yourself !!

hehehe they have adult toy shops on

    almost every corner...for a gal

it can get old very fast. sigh

tokyo is too sexualized for me

but i heard men really like it

japan sucks for women thats why

    i didnt stay long.

  4. Not much to do in Akasaka because it is mostly residential and commercial use but you can easily catch a train to a more interesting part of Tokyo.

Tokyo does not have a great deal of Historic places because many were burned to the ground in WWII and it would take you too long to get to most of the neighboring areas to see them.

    I would recomend Asakusa:

This is a great area to walk around you can find some good foods from the local shops and the walk around the river is nice. The Shrine is really cool and you will have a chance to buy any souveniers that you may need as the entrance has a ton of them.

You probably have seen lots of pictures of Ginza. It is famous for Department stores and shopping. It is a little crowded and over priced for me but it is fun to walk around and just check out. It really comes to life at night.

Tokyo Tower offers some amazing views and is well worth a visit. I like it best at night.

Imperial Palace is great but will likely be closed by the time you can visit. If you have a day and can get their before it closes the Garden is lovely. You can all ahead for a tour.

I would suggest stopping at an Izakaya at least once while you are there. It is a great experience and you can often find some very good food at decent prices while enjoying a great atmosphere.
