Things heating up for Paul Collingwood
Now, that the Aussies have managed to level the ongoing Ashes, one each, the players are out to torment the opposition by playing mind games once again and this time the former Aussie spinner Shane Warne has picked the struggling
English batsman Paul Collingwood as his latest prey.
The flirtatious Aussie managed to take time out from his current busy schedule with the ladies and took a smack at the English batsman by calling him the only “weak link” in the English side as they prepare to take the home side
on in the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), this Sunday.
Warne said, “When a team is winning, you can carry a player or two, but unfortunately for Paul Collingwood, he's been short of runs for a while. Since Perth, when Australia smashed the Poms, Collingwood is back in the spotlight
for his lack of runs. He might get one more chance here in Melbourne but he needs to make some runs."
Warne was critical of Collingwood’s role in the current English setup and believed that if the English batsman’s dry patch with the bat lingers on in the fourth Test, he might not be picked for the final Test in Sydney, which starts
on 3rd January.
If the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782 born batsman is listening to the Australian magician then this will definitely put more pressure on his depleting batting form.
Before the Ashes, Collingwood was being considered as the backbone of the English middle order batting line-up, but unfortunately he has looked totally out of form so far in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. Players such as Kevin Pietersen and Alastair
Cook who were struggling before the Ashes have come out strong on the field, while the English fans are still waiting for Collingwood to come to terms with the batting conditions in the Australian continent.
Nevertheless, the English coach Andy Flower and captain Andrew Strauss still have firm faith in their reliable middle order batsman, who they believe will come out of his bad patch with the bat in only a matter of time. Strauss
believes that all Collingwood needs is a good knock which will put him right back in the saddle.
