Things not looking rosy for Australian cricket, believes John Buchanan – Cricket News Update
Former Australian coach and the current Chief Executive of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Marshall-Buchanan-c68302, has said that the near future does not seem to be very bright for Australian cricket and they have to go through a rebuilding phase before becoming the the top
once again.
Aussie cricket is not having a good time since the last three years, as their premier cricketers, like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Justin-Lee-Langer-c69712 have retired from International cricket. The younger lot
of cricketers does not seem to be as talented as their predecessors.
However, Australia have made some drastic changes to their side in the recent past as legendary captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 failed to defend the title for the fourth consecutive
time.
Buchanan was the coach of the Australian team during its golden period in late 1990s and the decade of 2000s, when Australia was the best team in all the formats of the game by a long mile.
He feels that there is a lot of confusion in Australian cricket at the moment, as the management and the players are not sure about their jobs. With the new team of players and the management, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Buchanan-c48808 feels that the Kangaroos will take some time to regain
their position in world cricket.
Buchanan said, “There's definitely a vulnerability there. That's not just got to do with performance - there are a lot of things happening within Australian cricket at the moment behind the scenes which are going to take some time to gel. There's a new coach,
new selection group - and a new captain as selector which is going to be pretty interesting having someone in the dressing room from the selectors sitting and watching you."
While talking about Michael Clarke’s dual role as the captain and selector of the team, Buchanan believes that he would have to call some very interesting shots.
"He is going to make some pretty interesting calls over the next six months over a few players in that dressing room," he added.
