  1. Eating wild caught prey can be dangerous.  The toad can carry parasites that can make the beardie sick.  One firefly WILL kill a beardie (no treatment, no antidote).  Keep a close eye on your lizard when he is out of his tank!!!

  2. I live in San Diego, too (if that's what you mean by SD).  Anyway, "horny toads" are not indigenous to this area.  Regardless, "horny toads are in the same family as bearded dragons and are not poisonous.  The main concern you should have is that your bearded dragon could have become exposed to parasites and/or bacteria carried by the reptile it ate.  To be on the safe side, I'd take your beardie to a herp vet.  If you are near Mission Valley in San Diego, there's a very good herp specialist on Hotel Cirlcle.

  3. I answered this already.

    Take him to a vet.

My follow up question would be:

"How did your beardie ingest a toad?"

Are you allowing it to free range with no supervision?!!

Is it ingesting wild insects as well?

Parasites and pesticide issues are what you need to research, forget about the toad!

Are you aware of fertilizer and pesticide issues on the ground it roams?

Do you live in Australia, or the US?

What is NATIVE for the animal, and what are you allowing to happen to it?

Be a good owner, and you won't have to pose these kinds of questions.  The truth stings.  It won't get me 10 pts., but it MIGHT save your dragon!
