does the army make you take an Arabic language class before deploying? or do they just make you take classes in Arabic speaking just because?....the reason why i ask is because my husband is taking one and i asked him if its because he might be up for deploying and he said no but i looked at his packet and it says the class is to teach deploying soldiers Arabic.......

we also had a mandatory frg meeting and they said something about pre-deployment orders getting pushed back to next year sometime whats this mean...does it mean he will deploy soon?? i have asked him these questions but he either dont know himself or he is afraid to tell me whats going to happen

for those of you who will come back saying this is his job blah blah yeah i know but let me set you staright he has only been in for a year and we have been together for 10 years so this is all new and scary and i just want to know what to expect....thanks to all who post back!!

  1. Its very common to take those classes. His brigade may be getting ready for deployment so get ready now. Its also possible they could push it back or push it forward, right now they are just getting basics out of the way.

What service are we talking about here anyways ?

  2. Being in the military service means most of the time you are in the dark.  No one is sure what will happen tomorrow.  Orders change from day to day and no one is really sure what is going on until the last moment.  I think this Arabic class is just a precaution that the unit is taking for it's personnel but at the same time the "higher ups" may know something that your husband doesn't know.  Their CO might have thought it would be a great idea to teach all the soldiers basic arabic just to be ready for a deployment.  I understand this may be hard for you but I hope you support your husband and cherish the time you have with him.
