Things that the Western Conference Finalists need to do to ensure that they win (Part 3)
Moving on, we reach to the list of things where improvements are required by Vancouver Canucks so as to stomp its authority even further in the Western Conference Finals.
Firstly, we will be mentioning a problem that one of the star players in the team has.
Roberto Luongo, goalkeeper of Canucks, has established a very high position when it comes to his abilities and performances in games but there is only one thing that haunts him, passing the puck to his teammates.
There have been many occasions during several games that he passed the puck to his teammate but it ended up with an opposing team’s player that saw him conceding a goal.
This is the one thing that is always remembered and criticised by experts and even the fans. However, he didn’t help the cause of improving his position when it comes to this in the last game.
Once again he had the puck with him when he passed it to his player but it ended up in Joe Thornton’s way. What was even more disappointing for him was the fact that the puck was in the back of the net a few seconds later.
Nevertheless, he has numerous strengths that were seen later as he ended the game, making 27 saves.
Canucks won the game and got into the series lead but after the game the goal keeper admitted that he made a mistake and will be making sure that this doesn’t happen again.
"I didn't want to make another turnover, but I should just keep playing the puck", Luongo said. "I've done a great job all year. I don't think it's a weakness in my game".
He has to let go of his mistake of giving the puck away and later having a goal scored. The reason for this is that he is in the middle of a very crucial series for Canucks that is looking to win the Conference Finals and move to the Stanley Cup Finals after
a very long time.
Not only this but also the fact that the team depends on him at the back and he is one of the key players who keeps the defence strong.
He alone comes up with big turnovers and saves and at times single handedly wins games for Canucks. He needs to be strong and should make his mind on what he wants to do without any second thoughts.
"The minute you start second-guessing, that's when you're going to get into trouble", Luongo said. "Obviously the mistakes are going to happen. It's human nature. Everybody's going to make mistakes. The important thing is how you respond to it. You just
got to put it behind you and keep playing. Nobody's perfect. We're all going to make mistakes".
