I really want to start a new collection. I already collect Badges and Penny Pressed Coins but I can't think of anything else! I thought of stamps but they are way to boring!

  1. I have a collection of pebbles and shells from all the beaches I've ever been to.  I have recently started collecting miniature perfume bottles.

  2. i collected keyrings and erasers i got my family to buy some when they went away so i had them from all over and theres some unusual keyrings out there.im talking a few yrs ago now though

  3. I know...

Collect Keyrings, theres thousands of them out there in different types from all over the world... You can buy them, or win them in arcade machines...

They are fun to collect and make your keys and other things on them look cool...

I have a glow in the dark one, a domino and a rubber ducky. lol ;)

  4. how about what we collect, we collect, shot glasses, hurricane glasses, pilzner glasses, & martini glasses, but they have to be from Hard  Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Hooters, House of Blues, & Rainforest Cafe, & they have to say the state & sity on them too.

  5. I used to have loads of collections as a kid.

Stamps, coins, key rings, badges, pens, pencils, small "Wade Whimsies" (miniature animal ornaments), matchbox cars, dolls, books, records, tapes, Cd's, photographs, paintings, posters, erasers, McDonald's Toys, rocks & stones, sea shells, frogs (not real ones), fridge magnets, etc.

I had a house like an Aladin's cave.  Thankfully, I donated my collections to charity and now have a clutter-free house.  Hope you find something in that list to interest you.

    Good luck.

  6. Buttons would be interesting.  There are lots of different ones to be found in haberdashers or you might find some in jumble sales or charity shops. Buttons are often used in scrapbooking so there are lots of unusual ones in craft shops too or you might find vintage ones on E-bay.

My cousin collects small dolls in national costume from countries she visits or given by friends and relatives.

  7. Fridge Magnets... :-) These are good for when you visit various locations as well, so they are also a souvenir.

  8. Actually I thinks stamps would be kinda nice to collect, but to make it fun... have them on post cards from friends, relatives and even pen pals from around the country and the world. Mix it with other memorabilia like maps, and travel related stuff when you lay out in scrapbooks.

If you try it this way, well you would be collecting alot more than just stamps in the same amount of time you would if just collecting a stamp.  Only to make it even more unique, how bout trading a joke or something on each stamped postcard or something like that?  Start your own club focusing on your favorite theme and make yourself a nice scrapbook/album for it and a nice sized matching keepsake box to go with it.

Collecting little stories and pictures or whatever ephemera that interest you on specific subjects or people and creatures you like is another idea.  There are tons of things you can collect that don't cost you anything while at the same time recycling interesting shaped bottles and jars of colored glass or even boxes if large enough and useful and find different ways of using them making all sorts of neat stuff for yourself or friends as gifts.

All this stuff can be painted or embellished however you like making all sorts of useful things from vases, picture frame/storage containers.  Put your favorite photo on the inside of a jar and seal it flat against the glass from behind on the inside with clear, wide plastic tape (to protect it) and embellish it on the outside around the edges of the photo with craft paint and whatever for a nifty piggy bank or pencil holder...you know, the list is endless.

  9. what's something you really like? I loved My Little Ponies as a kid...I'm getting a pretty good collection of those now! Mabye memorabilia from a movie/band/etc that you love?

  10. I collect ex´s . It´s starting to be a pretty large collection.

  11. Snow Globes ;))))

  12. you can collect keychains. I have a ton

  13. Why do you need to hoard things? You'll spend far too much money and you'll just fill valuable space. Save your money for something more useful.

  14. i collect beach sand from every beach that i've been too.  and shot glasses.
