  2. I hope you're planning to spend at least three weeks there.  The 22 hour flight form NY is tough with a capitol TOUGH.  I went  a couple of years ago for a week and the lag lasted until the day before I returned on the 21 hour flight back home.  Sydney is great.  I was there in their winter and it was 70 degrees just about all the time.

When in Sydney go visit the Opera House or walk up the suspension bridge nearby.  One thing I really enjoyed was visiting the blue mountains.  The eucalyptus trees give off a mist that creates a hazing effect turning the area a bluish tint.  Don't forget Bondi Beach for a nice dinner either.

    Have fun!  Mistress Dolly

  3. Sorry, but there is no suspension bridge near the Opera House.  But you can climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge, bit expensive although is a truly wonderful experience.  Always plenty to do in Sydney, even if you just catch a ferry to Manly and one to Parramatta, then you have traveled just about the whole length of the harbour.  Plenty of animal parks around, ferndale is best for Australian animals, but is a bit out.  Taronga Park Zoo is good for exotic animals.  Just going to the beach, either Bondi or Manly are good and easy to get to. Go up Sydney Tower, at the top of Centrepoint, then climb out to the viewing platform.  It's got a glass floor.

  4. wrangle kangaroos and eat at Outback Steakhouse while drinking Foster's.

  5. Australia is huge . what part are you going to. If its between October and april you don't want to go in the top half the wet season comes in then and its hot hot and sticky. But one of the most awesome adventures during april to September would be to go to Darwin hire a campervan and drive the 2000 kilometres to Broome. So if your coming summer time go to Sydney hire a car and head for the Gold Coast. Can get quite hot in Summer you may want to sit in the GoldCoasts wonderful beaches and go clubbing at night. Or if your going to Melbourne take a trip along the great Ocean Road  or up into the Dandenong Ranges or a flight to Alice Springs kings Canyon and Ayers Rock [Uluru] while in Sydney hang out at Bondi Beach for a while. The list can go on forever Depends what you want. Queensland is a super place maybe go to Airlie Beach and take a trip or 2 out into The whitsunday islands and Barrier reef

  6. Wow there are so many things to do in Australia - over my last couple of holidays I've been:

    - Kayaking on Sydney Harbour

    - Skydiving over the NSW South Coast

    - Scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, QLD

    - White water rafting on the Barron River, QLD

Or if you're up for more leisurely activities, you could go whale watching or take a winery tour in the Yarra Valley, VIC.

A site I regularly use to search and book my holiday activities http://www.godo.com.au - they have 100's across Australia.

Hope you find something to do.

    Enjoy your time in Oz!!
