Things to do in Chicago?

Question

A couple of friends and I are going to the US next near, mainly to go to Chicago. Where would you recommend us to go to in Chicago or in other states? We are going to Lollapalooza and Warped Tour and we're be in Chicago for 1-2 weeks.

Is Coney Island in NY fun? .. because I'm thinking of going there.

We are 17-18 years of age, if it helps.

Oh, and could you tell me what the temperature is like in Chicago July/August? Does it get quite hot and humid? And I hear it rains a lot during summer?

Sorry to tell you this, but both of those events were last weekend.

There are museums, shopping on Michigan avenue, lots of things to do.

John Hancock - observatory on the 94th floor, and Cheescake Factory Restaurant on the lower level (noisy but good!)

Navy Pier has fireworks every Wednesday (9:30 pm) and Saturday (10:15 pm) plus there are lots of things to do there. A sightseeing boat would be fun.

And yes, it sometimes rains! We've had a pretty nice summer so far, though. It's been ususually cool (75-80 F.) and non-humid. I've never been to New York.
