my friend and I are currently in Germany for about 6 weeks, 3 of those we will be able to do whatever we want

anyone have any ideas for some fun things to do, or maybe fun clubs etc? We will both be 18 so age doesnt matter and we will be using trains, so location isnt a problem either.

  1. Definitely, you MUST MUST MUST go to Koeln (Cologne)!!! I spent four months there, and still didn't get to see everything that I wanted! It is a great city, and a whole different Germany. Seriously, the french influence is very noticible, because the people are much more friendly and sociable. It is the ONLY place in Germany where you can find a brauhaus that gives the hours as "20 uhr bis ende" (or from 8pm until it closes), haha! See a 1. FC Koeln football game! They just moved up to the first Bundesligia (JAA!!), so everyone is really psyched right now when it comes to football.

Also, see Muenchen (Munich). The history in that city is amazing! Loved it. though watch out for pissy waiters at the Haufbrauhaus. (You have to go. Even if you don't want to the the traditional "tourist" that is one thing you have to see. Trust me. I went there and I don't even LIKE beer...) Also, go see Neuschwanstein. Outside of the main trainstation, there will be groups advertising for all day trips to Neuschwanstein. Take it. it's a decent price that pays for the train ride there and back (about 2 hours each way), a tour guide to tell you the history of the town around it and about Ludwig II, and then for the guided tour of the inside of the Castle.

  2. i say spend 4 days in berlin, 1 day in cologne, 3 days in munich(dont forget to visir dachau and neuschwanstein),2 days in hamburg, 1 day in hannover, 2 days in dresden, and 1 day in lake constance. some fun things to do drink beer and see the alps.
