Hey, I'm going to London from August 12-16th next week and I was wondering if anyone knew about anything happening? Or just somewhere that you think would be good...

I was thinking about cheap(ish) tickets to concerts/theatre. Although if you have any different suggestions, they're welcome :)

  1. when u arrive buy Time Out magazine which details, reviews and recommends everything currently showing in theatres, exhibitions, music venues, cinemas and museums. It comes out weekly and is on sale everywhere. You can prob buy it at the airport when u land from the shop WH Smiths.

Kew Gardens is fantastic at this time of year. if it's not raining hang out in the central london parks which are pretty vibrant in summertime.

Take the Tube to Richmond and have a pint in one of the pubs on Richmond Green, then walk down to the river (and more pubs!) - it's idyllic in the summer.

if you're feeling cultural visit the British Museum and Tate Modern.

plus you can walk from Parliament Square (where Big Ben is) to Trafalgar Square (passing Downing Street and Horse Guards) and then down The Mall to Buck House where the poshos lord it over us :-)

a guaranteed good time can be had at a comedy club (check Time Out for listings). There's dozens all round London.

  5. Billy Elliot is awesome! So is the Lion King.

    Maddame Tussauds is a must-do!

London Eye is quite boring, but maybe worth it to say that you've done it.

Camden Market is great, lots of weird, different things that nobody else you know will have.
