Things to do in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico?

Ok, so me and my family are going to Mexico in bout 2 weeks and we need to find stuff that is fun to do but not overly expensive...imm 14 my bro is 18 and my parents....any help?

Sure, but beware Playa is an expensive place these days and very touristic. It used to be the European beach in the area and few women wore tops to their bathing suits, but now it is very Americanized.

One good thing to do is walk out snorkeling. You can do incredible snorkeling from the beach on the very north end of Playa. You rent the stuff and just walk/swim out to the reef. If you go in the boats they will bring you to that place to snorkel because it is the best place around. I think it used to be called Play de Coco's...

One day you can take the boat over to Cozumel and walk around, the ticket price is pretty high now though..... check it out. There is volleyball and water sports on the beach in Playa all day and in the evening you can eat on Quinta Avenida.

For lunch I suggest a place you would take a cab/taxi. Tell the driver    Faisan y Venado.... it is real Yucatecan just like it was 15 years ago.... waiters in all white and great regional foods and service.
