  1. Definitley go to el Morro and to the rain forest. Eat at the Spanglish Cafe and at the restaurant in the el Convento hotel. They have amazing food. They are both tapas restaurants. We went down there last November to my cousins wedding. Definitley go to the beaches... they are beautiful! And you have to go shopping... they have really good stores in the town center of old San Juan... you will LOVE Puerto Rico!!!

  2. The best thing about Puerto Rico is the beaches. They are not very crowded and the water is clear and warm. We stayed at the Wyndham El Conquistador which had its own private island.

If you like shopping, hire a charter plane and go to St. Thomas. You can find amazing name brands that are much cheaper than the states (with no sales tax).

If you are more adventurous some fun things to do are going deep sea fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, and jungle tours.

We went to a lot of local restaurants and the food is amazing. I cant remember any names in particular but just look around because the possibilities are endless.

Puerto Rico was honestly one of the best vacations I have ever taken. I hope you have a great time!

    =)

El Yunque rainforest - several trails, waterfalls.

Luquillo beach (close to El Yunque)

    Bio Bay tour at fajardo

    Day trip to Culebra

  5. Great! PR has great malls, cinemas and stores.

Old San Juan is awesome! The food is great and you'll have a great trip! PRicans are very nice and warm.

Also try to learn some spanish words like hola, adios, como estas, como te llamas, etc

There are many PR restaurants with typical PR food. The food is fantastic. You will have a great time...

  6. Get drunk.  Even though part of the USA, the legal drinking age is 18.  Tour the old fort along the sea just west of San Juan.  Tour the Bacardi rum plant.  Go to Sea World.  Beachcomb.  Swim, snorkel or (if qualified) scuba.  Follow your nose for the good eats, as most restaurants are quite small and the cooking vents directly to the outside.

  7. Definitely go to Old San Juan and see El Morro and all of the other historical building and fortresses.  Go to Luquillo...yes it can be crowded and touristy but it is the best beach on the island.  El Yunque...is an amazing tropical forest in the mountains.  For some goods artesanias...go to Loiza Aldea, a small town in between San Juan and Luquillo.  If time and money permit...try to go to Fajardo (on the east) to take a ferry to Culebra or Vieques.  These are Puerto Rico's "virgin islands"...they are breathtaking.

If anything stay out of San Juan area...it can be dangerous, dirty, over-priced, touristy and not much to see.  However in Catano is the Rum Factory where you can sample rum.  Sin duda la fabrica vale la pena.  Chao!
