Things to do in and around burnham on sea?

What is there to do in and around (preferably not over half hour ish drive) for families (2 kids aged 11 and 14) and obviously the parents

there isnt much to do in burnham itself there is the town for shopping and the beach but it isnt safe to go in water due to sinking mud ( a little girl died there a couple years ago in the mud flats ) a few miles from burnham you have brean leisure centre with huge market every monday, a new swimming pool and water shute s, and a big funfair. you also have cheddar gorge 7 miles away which is lovely and weston supermare with its town center and pier with arcade, sealife centre and big leisure centre. have a look at at thisissomerset.co.uk, or things to do in sedgmoor and north somerset. all the mentioned places are good for kids, and all accessible from local buses.
