Things to do in san diego in the night?

i will be celebrating my 19th b-day but i don't know what i should do i was thinking dinner then something else that does not require being 21?

does anyone know any good places around: mission valley, hillcrest, or gaslamp

Go to red lobster or olive garden. go to sea world. go to a party and yeah. that's my kind of party. i love to eat.

San Diego has a good nightlife, but LA's is definitely the best in California. When is comes to restaurants, you can find almost anything you want in SD. It really depends on what type of food you want for dinner - if you want something with seafood/Asian, I would recommend eating in downtown La Jolla. It's not too far from Hillcrest, and a short drive from the Gaslamp District. A great place is Roppongi's if you want to stick to the Asian motif. If you want to stay around the Gaslamp District, I'd recommend walking around before your party and stopping into some places - there is a huge variety with different restaurants offering wonderful food. Some can be pricey, but worth the money.

As for the party AFTER the dinner, I'll be the first to tell you that San Diego doesn't have that many clubs to go to and dance if you're under 21. If you're into the Middle Eastern tradition of doing hookah, then that's really not a problem...there is a hookah lounge in the Gaslamp District called Lulu's. For clubs, you could go to Soma...but SD is just not the place to have 21 and younger places. LA is good for that...they have tons of great places. Hillcrest and Mission Valley aren't really nightlife type of places, but Gaslamp District is your best bet.

If you don't like anything in SD you could always take a 45 minute drive to Mexico :)
