Things to do on the drive from Brisbane to Perth.?

We are making the drive from Brisbane to Perth in October. Looking for any advice.. things to do, places to stay etc...

Personally I'd wind down the windows and swear at as many Australians as I saw. If you can, throw empty beer cans at them too, and tell them them I couldn't give a "Four Ex" for any of them!

Playing "I spy" would be out of the question for a lot of the trip because there isn't very much to spy.

Make sure you have a good supply of CDs to listen to.

We've done the trip from Brisbane to Adelaide and back many times and some of it is mind numbing and boring.

I wouldn't even think of crossing the Nullabor by car.

Good luck and watch out for roos, emus and those massive trucks.

I wouldn't do it because it is so far. Even by bus takes about 4 days almost non-stop.

If you have to do it, maybe get a medium or large sedan with cruise control. Toyota Auriun or Camry are great.

That is a huge journey!!!!

I know it takes 5 hours to fly from Perth to Sydney! Let alone driving to Bris from Perth.

sleep, drink and take lots of drugs to stay awake. and also take take a sllepingbag or a plastic sheet and sleep outside.

Blimey!  Isn't that a 3000 mile drive?  It's not like driving coast to coast USA, I know that much.  According to my sister in Perth there's a lot of times when there's just a lot of "nothing".  She flies or takes the train.
