Hi,

Because I have CHD, I'm eligible to have wish for the Make-a-Wish foundation. So I chose to go on a Hawaii cruise but my wish volunteers asked me to write a letter explaining what things I want to do and places to see on a Hawaii cruise.

I haven't been on a cruise before so if anyone has any ideas that are a must to do on a cruise or a must to see places in Hawaii, that'll be great.

And I have to be specific on what activites I'd like to do so, any suggestions of activities on a cruise are welcome

I also want to do something that my family will enjoy. I have my mom and dad, two sisters age 21 and 12 and I am 17.

Thanks.

  1. The Hawaii cruises are great (I think most of them are through Norweigan Cruise Lines) and stop on 4 different islands, so there's lots to see and do.  One of the things my family seemed to enjoy was going to see the sunrise at the summit of Haleakala volcano on Maui - it's cold, but GORGEOUS.  Also, while you're on the Big Island (Hawai'i island) you can take a trip up to see Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, where there's tons to see and do - you even drive right through the caldera of an active volcano!  The ship also cruises by the coast where you can see glow from the eruption, which is cool.  Of course, if you have the ability, a helicopter or airplane tour over the eruption site is definitely worth doing.

On Oahu you could visit Pearl Harbor and go to any number of beaches, although the beaches on Kaua'i are by far my favorite.  If you visit, go to Poipu and check out the Shipwrecks beach - you can see the cliff where Harrison Ford jumped into the ocean in "6 Days 7 Nights."

If that's not enough, just drop me an email and ask for more!

ps - while you're on the boat, they have a list of available activities every day (usually like a newsletter) with games, programs, and whatnot.  There's always the pool, usually a few clubs where you can dance (there are several for different age groups), and LOTS of food to eat.  My favorite thing to do on the ship is to get a drink with an umbrella in it, sit on the deck, look at the water and relax.  :o)

  2. i live in hawaii, so the first thing people want to do is go to the beach.  try the north shore.  After the beach, you have to visit Matsumoto shave ice.  It is on the way to the beach.  The line is long, but its worth the wait.  For shopping go to Ala Moana in Waikiki (usually where all the hotels and tourists are).  If you are looking for scenic tours and guides, try visit tour websites.  If you can, you should get a map if you are planning to visit the North shore because you might get lost.

  3. Go to the website of the cruise line you are using, and they will have itinerary choices.  You may get some ideas from that.  I just got back from a Hawaii cruise.  You will love it!   there is so much to see and do I could never list them all.  the people are wonderful, and Hawaii is beautiful!  We did take a couple of tour busses.  The drivers are loaded with info, and usually very funny.  I hope you have a wonderful time!

  4. helicopter around the island

    snorkeling

volcano national park on the big island

    "old lahaina" luau in Maui

    visit the black sand beaches

ride to Hana and swim in the Seven Sacred Pools

    deep sea fishing

    Visit Pearl Harbor

Go to Duke's Canoe Club for breakfast

eat mangoes and papaya from the tree

visit the sugar cane plantation and pineapple farms.

watch the surfers on the North Shore

  5. Check out the cruise boat website for things to do while on the cruise there will be ton of things to do.  You can check out the below website for things to do on shore http://www.123world.com/states/hawaii.ph... and http://www.hawaii-vacation-hotels.us/haw... Good Luck!!
