  1. Plenty! Puerto Rico is a great vacation. In San Juan you must visit historic Old San Juan & el Morro Fort, its huge & a must see! San Juan is a city so there is always something to do. There are tons of restaurants, stores, casinos, nightclubs & more. San Juan also has some nice beaches like Isla Verde, Condado and el ecambron. The beaches are nice, kind of like Miami Beach, but there are better ones outside of San Juan. Also from San Juan you can go to the Bacardi Factory tour in Catano, there is a ferry to go there. Outside of San Juan you can go to el Yunque rain forest & swim in the waterfalls. Arecibo Telescope & Camuy Caves are spectacular sites too. & if you want to take a ferry to Vieques or Culebra islands they have the most gorgeous white sand beaches. Enjoy :)

  2. Around San Juan- it all depends how close you want to stay to San Juan.

San Juan is a city are that is composed of many "sections".

In Isla Verde- great beaches- on the beach outside the EL San Jaun/ESJ Towers, there is a company that rents all sorts of waterfun- jet skis, banana boat rides, para sailing, sail boats  etc.  Aslo some fantastic clubs!

Lots of restaurants and shopping in Isla Verde and as you head West.

Also in the SJ area is  Santurce is the mercado area- that has fruit markets and great restaurants and bars.

Old San Juan is great for sightseeing, restaurants, bars, history, art museums  etc.

To the east a little bit is Pinones- nice waterfront area with a nature boardwalk to bike or walk on...

If you venture out of San Juan by about an hour in all directions, you can see a lot more!

But you need to rent a car!

To the east is El Yunque for hiking, also you can go to Hacienda Carabali for ATV or horseback riding.

Then Luquillo has a great beach and the "famous"  kioskos (food shacks).  Then comes Fajardo and the out islands, where you can snorkel and see the BioBays  etc

To the South, you will get to Guavate- go on weekends, for great Lechon (roasted pig) and music and dancing...

A bit further and to the SW is Ponce, anther great old city with lots of stuff to do.   Also there are lots of hiking forests to go to.

To the West of SJ, you will get to Arecibo, where there is the telescope (very educational) , some neat petrogylphs, and lighthouse...

Keep going west and you can reach the caves and eventually Rincon, which in the winter is the surfing capital....

Lots of great things to see and do.
