Things to make out of an old trunk/chest?

i have a trunk thats probably from the early 1900's. Its to high to be a coffee table. i still haven't painted it and it has some rust on it (just to give you an idea). Does anyone have any ideas what i can use it for other than storage or a coffee table? if anyone has any ideas or maybe even done this themselves please let me know. thanks

I wouldn't paint it, cause if it is an antique that takes away the value. People love the original patina/finish on furniture. Could it fit at the end of your bed is it flat on top and sturdy? You could put a cushion on top for extra seating.

Otherwise use it for storage, or to hide bodies

I can almost guarantee you'll regret painting it one day! If the top is flat, put a piece of laminated glass on it and use it to hold your tv or stereo. Store your off-season clothes or linens inside.
