Okay so I'm going to Chicago starting Sept. 21st through the 23rd.

I wanted to know if there is any good cafes, events, stores, or restaurants that would be worth trying. I'm 16 by the way & a girl. Thanks!

  1. Don't just go downtown! there are so many good areas.

    For shopping:

Armitage street is my number one!

The ever popular mag mile (michigan ave)

    State street (downtown as well)

    Events:

For music, the metro has cheap and good shows (alternative music)

Of course there are sports events-- cubs, sox, bears

    The beautiful lakefront

    China Town

    Greek Town

Touristy stuff, sears tower,  millenium park, navy pier, field museum, museum of science and industry, various theaters (check the Chicago Tribune for a good list), art institute, etc

    Food:

    Grand Luxe Cafe

    Bom Bon Cafe

    Medici

    El Barco

    Ann Sathers

    Orange on Harrison

    Brazzaz

    Marcello's

    Phoenix

    Bonsoiree

    Rodity's

    Sloppy Jo's

    Minnie's

    Tiffin

    Have fun! xoxo.

  2. I highly suggest the museum of science and industry.

  3. I'm 14 and I'm a guy i love Chicago and I live in the western suburbs. If you want to get to see the real Chicago Check out all the Stores on State Street and especially Michigan Ave. There is also China town and Greek town plus little Italy. Some good restaurants are the Chicago Chop house if you really want to go big, or the grand Lux cafe. There are many other place to eat a good Chicago pizza of a Beef Sandwich. Check out navy pier it a tourist place and many people from Chicago go there too. You can get boat tours and eat shop and just sit there to enjoy the lake. There are also bus tours and the famous Sears Tower sky deck where you can see the entire city or the John Handcock Building. Have fun in chicago and make sure your get to our parks and take a look at are museums and city fests and events.

  4. That's great you're planning to come to Chicago! There's so much to do and see I don't even know where to start. If you're into some good shopping head on over to Michigan Ave. There's a TON of different stores there and it's always full of people, so it's a true Chicago experience. Plus it's in the heart of downtown. If you walk around there i'm sure you can also find some culture fest going on, there's usually a ton of those.  There's also a place called Millenium Park where the famous "bean" is located. It's pretty cool and there's some good food/walking areas around there so def. try and go there. Also, check out Navy Pier. It's pretty much just a tourist kind of place but many locals go there too, you can take boat rides, walk on the pier, eat, shop, pretty much everything. And as for restaurants check out Father and Son's (or as they now call it, Marcellos.) It's true Chicago style pizza and it's pretty good:)

Hope you enjoy your stay in the Windy City!

    Have fun!
