My due date is Sept 10th but I feel like I'm going to pop any second now lol. My husband and I have a list of things we should take with us in our "bag" but just wanted to ask... what do you recommend I take with me? What is one thing you think I should not leave home without?

Thanks for the help everyone!

  1. I had this list made up not to long ago and am planning on using it for when I pack my bags for the hospital. I hope it comes of some use to you as well. =)

  2. loose fitting PJ bottoms

shirt with easy access to b***s

    loose fitting underwear

losse fitting outfit to come home in

    slippers

    hair elastics

    chap stick

    nursing bra and nursing pads

    maxi pads

any toiletries you might like: hairbrush, toothbrush, soap

  3. Our hospital provided a lot of things that I thought I would need for the baby, so maybe ask them what they provide.  A comfy outfit, nightgown, pjs, etc. for yourself and toiletries for yourself are so key to helping you feel normal.  Maybe a baby book to record stuff while you are waiting to go home...or a parenting magazine, etc.  A comfy outfit for baby to go home is also important and of course...the carseat!!

  4. A watch, music you like, camera/video camera, your favorite lotions, body washes and shampoo and conditioner (the hospital stuff sucks!), sugar free hard candy, (to suck on if your mouth gets dry), Heavy, comfy socks!, hair brush and headband to keep your hair off of your face, snacks for daddy, a robe and comfy nightgowns (remember you will be bleeding, so don't pack white ones), toiletries for yourself and your husband, books or things to occupy yourself when you can't sleep, a going home outfit, clothes and blankets for your baby.

The hospital provides a lot of things, but you want to be comfortable, so bring your favorite pillow, and things that make you feel at home and comfy no matter where you are.

  5. change of clothes, all your ID, a pen, nursing pads, magazine or something to read, toilettries...

just pack what you'd need for an overnight trip, and then add in things like nursing pads and panty liners.

for the baby, a couple onesies, an outfit to go home in, receiving blanket, blanket, small toilettries, couple extra diapers.

  6. I tell everyone to bring an iPod or portable DVD player.  That really helped me at night when it was so noisey I couldn't sleep.  I also liked having slippers so I didnt have to walk on the hospital floor in my socks.  As for baby stuff...my hospital provided everything.  All I needed was the outfit to take him home in.  Otherwise, just pack what toiletries you would normally need

  7. something to waste time.  Movies, books. puzzles.  I picked movies I didn't want to have to really think about what I was doing in the hospital when I had contractions.  Also stuff to take a shower and take your time.  The shower I took after two days is still to this day the BEST shower I have ever taken in my life.  A Cell phone with a full battery.  Congratulations and Good Luck on your new addition.
