Things won't be easy for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 at Craven Cottage: Chris Baird
Fulham’s defender Chris Baird feels that the Cottagers can get hold of Chelsea’s new 50 million pound signing, Fernando Torres. Baird, however, admits that Torres is a top striker and the player had done wonders for Liverpool while he was part of the Reds
squad.
Baird further added that even though Chelsea’s attack was worth 90 million pounds in all; including the strikers http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Northern-Ireland-c2972 defender, Chris Baird was of the view that
Fulham had been really strong at home this season and it would be a difficult task for any opposition to defeat them at Craven Cottage.
The defender hailed El Nino's striking abilities, but pointed out that the former Red had only scored 2 goals against them when he was a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 player, and the script won’t be any different for him when he comes again in a blue shirt.
Baird expressed his views on Torres’s move to the London by saying, "I was surprised to see him go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, but not for the price. It will be weird seeing him in a blue kit".
According to Baird, derby is a dream for any player and this being a local one, Fulham will make sure that Chelsea do not find things easy on their travel to Craven Cottage on Monday, the 14 of February, 2011.
Baird added that, with the quality that Chelsea posses in their ranks both in the midfield and forward line, the former Liverpool man will get more and more chances to score although it won’t be so easy for the striker to score in front of Fulham’s army.
The Northern Ireland man is confident that Fulham will keep up their good work at Craven Cottage and without thinking about the opposition's reputation, the Cottagers will play their own game and hopefully keep on climbing the league ladder.
According to Baird, the derby is going to be a matter of handling nerves. The team that is able to keep a calm head on their shoulders should come out on top.
