  1. other than all the great answers you've already got, i would say to make sure your pantry or cabinets/freezer are well stocked. that way you don't have to try and make food shopping trips in the first couple weeks!

  2. BABY WIPES

  3. Cloth diapers! They are great to use as burp cloths and they can be used to diaper in a pinch.

I wish I had picked up more bibs too.  I had about 10 when the baby was born and ended up needing about 30 more! My little one is a big drooler and spitter-upper so we were (and are) going through about 8 or 9 bibs a day.

I had about 12 or 15 bottles and that seemed to be enough, but I ended up having to run out to buy new nipples for them.  Make sure you have some backup nipples in size one and size two.

I wouldn't get too many diapers since you don't know which ones will fit.  I ended up with a ton of size Newborns and Ones and my wee one was only in newborns for about a week and the ones for about 2 weeks after that.  If you do want to stock up on diapers make sure you hold onto your receipt so you can exchange them if you need to.

Make sure you have lots of wipes.  Almost every time newborns eat they have a bowel movement so you will be changing a lot of dirty diapers.  For the first few weeks buy the brand wipes (Pampers Sensitive are wonderful) because of how often you will be using them.  After that the generic wipes are basically the same (I have been using Parent's Choice for about 5 months and they are great).

If you can, now would be a good time to stock up on food in the freezer for you and your significant other.  Believe me, the last thing you will want to worry about after the baby is born is dinner!

    Good luck!

  4. bottles mostly and diapers!!

  5. diapers, bottles, burp clothes.

  6. Myself so I could do more.

  7. BIBS(very spitty son :) ) Make sure you have lots of blankets and lots of sleepers!!! Make sure you dont overlook the small stuff, like themometers and mittens(so baby cant scratch face), alot of people forget the little stuff!!  Pacifiers also, if you are using them!! Good luck and have fun!!

  8. Mine would be definitely diapers and wipes, they run out so fast. Also extra soft nice blankets that you would wrap the baby in to sleep. My baby was a puker, and I was constantly washing blankets. It would have been nice to have a few extra! Best of luck!

  9. bottles..wipes..diapers...Oh and def. washclothes..those things come in handy for soooo much stuff....Um let me see what else...Oh you know what i really wish i had more of??? Those little shirts that are side snap so i ddin't have to toss my little one around trying to get his shirt off and on .Well good luck and i hope this helped ...

  10. Clothes for myself that actually fit and weren't maternity.  The baby had enough stuff... LOL.  but when I felt like going out.. I realized my underwear were wrong, my clothes obviously didn't fit even though you feel super skinny after birth... and all my tops were too short because your b***s are huge!

I did end up buying lots more diaper shirts  and mitts for the baby so she wouldn't scratch herself.  the baby spent her time swaddled so I wasn't worried about cold.. but she was born August 31 07 and I used to change her everytime she got a spot on her shirt.. now.. yeah.. I don't.. I'd be changing her clothes every hour!

    Good luck!

  11. if bottle feeding exclusively extra formula and bottles, they will start your baby on a formula in the hospital so maybe a good friend/family member or your partner could grab extra for you?  Also I remember being grateful i stocked up on food for US before the baby came home, the last thing we felt like doing was going to the store.  Other than that, plenty of diapers and wipes.  I also agree with a prev. poster, get everything you can from the hospital for free.  they will give you diapers, formula bottles w/nipples you just throw away when your done, and extra pacifiers if you use them.  I actually came right out and asked my nurse when i had my son for extra diapers and bottles/nipples to take home, i was honest i said i didn't have a lot at home and with other kids it would hard to get to the store for a couple days and she very happily brought me 2 large bags of diapers and formula bottles w/nipples.  I know my ex-sil actually told them she was broke(she was honestly) and the sent her home with 4 huge bags of stuff and didn't make her feel bad at all.  The hospital has just about an unlimited supply from the reps from the formula and diaper companies, I know people who have walked out of there with 2 or 3 of those free diaper bags as well.

    good luck!

  12. Diapers, I tried to buy bunches in various sizes, it helped a ton having them around.

  13. ???

um.. clothes? sum make up maybe 4 urself..yeh bottles n bibs

gud luck!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) yer baby will b  very happy!))

  14. I would have to say nappies & bibs!! Also formula (if not breastfeeding) and make sure your all stocked up on things you need also. Good luck hun hope that baby comes soon, i was 6 days late and induced lol

  15. clothing.diapers,wipes

  16. Burp clothes! My baby is a spitter, and those things come in handy! Also when you do deliver your baby, take everything they have for you at the hospital. We took all the extra stuff we could! Good luck!!

  17. Diapers, and some extra onesies... Seriously, I'm always amazed at how those newborn diapers just let the p**p go right through, and stain their clothes. :)

  18. With my 1st pregnancy I remember wishing I had more bottle liners.  Also make sure you have plenty wipes & diapers.

One more thing you will want plenty of is easy healthy snacks and foods around your house.  Taking care of a newborn is hard enough, and you don't have a lot of time to cook.

Hopefully your little one will be here soon!  Congrats!

  19. Time!

Seriously, clothing. At this stage with my daughter, she had an entire drawer, closet and bucket full of clothing. For my son, his closet consists of 4 sweater, 4 sleepers and a ton of empty hangers, while his drawers have 10 pairs of socks, 7 diaper shirts, 3 sleepers, and 4 pairs each of shirts and pants.
