  1. They found her bones, she in interred in the family crypt with the remains of her parents and most of her siblings...they even used Prince Philip's the Duke of Edinburgh to identify the DNA(Elizabeth II husband)...the woman who tried to drown herself in a canal in 1920, named Anna, and who claimed to be the Grabd Duchess untill  she died a few years back, was a fake, and thought to be Polish. The current claimant to the Romanov titles is Grand Duke Wladimir...who is resented in some circles because his name is Germanic in spelling and NOT Russian, and he is old and not a popular Romanov. there isn't a hope in h**l of a dynastic restoration of that monarchy, its been dead for 90 years. The bones they didn't find were of Grand Duke Alexis (the cazervich) and his sister, Grand Duchess Maria...so that is still a mystery. But whats the point? the alst Russian Czar was, genetically something like 1/2000 Russian by inbreeding with other European families. It's the 'romance' of Anastasia that lives on...the myth. The girl was shot with her family in Ekateringburg in the Urals in The House of Special Purpose's basement, dumped, later burnt and reburied...her aubnt Elizabeth didn't do so well with other mebers of the family. An Orthidox nun, she and family and friends were thrown down a mineshaft...and the recovered bodies showed...they had splinted broken limbs, so survived the fall and died of cold and hunger.

  2. She was when she was alive.
