Question:

Think I could collect unemployment?

I've worked full time for a hotel for 2 and a half years and recently decided to go back to school. I submitted my school schedule 2 and a half months prior to the starting date. My manager calls me into her office, a week before school starts, and tells me she just looked over my school schedule and said it wasn't going to work. Even with the school schedule I could still work, and was willing, 4 days a week. They weren't having because I wouldn't be "flexible". They made me write a letter of resignation and my two weeks are in.

  1. Nope.......you have to be available for full time work........sorry.

  2. You were hired for a full time job and now will not be able to work the hours for which you were hired.  You will, therefore, not be eligible for unemployment compensation.  Perhaps you could find another job in your field with part time hours.  Schools often have such jobs listed for their students.  Good luck~
