Think I may have ate a small piece of metal??

but I am not sure , I was trying to open a can of chef boy r dee, and the can opener wasnt working so i got little pieces of metal on the top, I never did actually eat the can of chef boy r dee but think that a piece of the metal might have somehow got into my bottle of water because after I drank some my esophagus really hurt and felt like there was something sharp there, I drank something and it went away within 5 mins. My belly doesnt hurt or anything -- should I goto the doctors or be checked out or just wait and see?How long does it normally take to digest stuff?
