Question:

Think Marcus Williams will be running the point in GS next year?

Think Nelly will give him the keys? Will he slide Monta over to SG, his natural spot, and see what Williams can do? Will SJax be the odd man out in GS next year? I'd love to see Williams play and see him as a nice sleeper for fantasy next year. I think Monta really shines more at the SG spot, though I could also see Williams as a backup to Ellis. Thoughts?

  1. You know i have been thinking about this a lot since Marcus came over.  I noticed him last year with the Nets and he had a few great games.  I really would like to see the lineup: Williams, Ellis, Jackson, Maggette, Beidrins.  Yes, the warriors are once again going small, but hey aint that the Nelly way?

I would prefer Ellis shooting the ball over distributing the ball.  He shot like over 50 percent from the field last year.  S-jax, many have forgotten about him, he did average 20 ppg people!!  I hear all this Baron's gone, the boats sinking....well how about the other two guys who averaged 20 ppg last year S-jax and Ellis!  How bout Maggette, how bout Bierdrins, how bout Azubuike, Harrington, Youngsters Wright, Randolph, Marco.  THe list goes on and on.  How bout Turiaf too.  THe Warriors will be an exciting team still next year.  Im betting the house rite now that they will make the playoffs next year.

Yea, you're rite, Marcus is  a sleeper.  But i wouldnt draft him in a regulation league.  I think he'll remain undrafted in most leagues.  Keep your eye on Andre MIller tho, he is always underrated as a fantasy player.

  2. yes, i hope so, i like williams

  3. no starting roster is

    C:Biedrins

    PF:Harrington unless traded

    SF:Corey Maggette

SG:Jackson forgot who plays SG maggette or Jackson

    PF:Ellis,Williams,Watson

  4. Not unless Ellis disappoints as the starter first, at least this year.  While Ellis has proven to be an excellent SG on offense, on defense, he is very short for SG.  Williams could force his way into the starting lineup by playing too well to keep on the bench, but that is down the road.  It is Ellis' spot to lose.

  5. NO Monta is the future of Golden State and he will have to play the point eventually he will probably be backup.  Williams does have great numbers based on the minutes he plays.

  6. no, they got Ellis.

  7. Well, if we know anything about Nelly, we know that he will tinker with his lineups quiet a bit and frustrate fantasy owners.    But I think that Monta will start at the PG position with Williams backing him up--at least to start the season.  I hope that Sjax isn't the odd man out, the guy can fill it up and has good fantasy value.

  8. Monta Ellis is projected to be the PG for the Warriors and Marcus primarily a backup. I'd rather see Ellis at the SG for now because he might not be ready.

  9. i think theyre gonna make maggette come of the bench

  10. The lineup for Golden State is gonna look like this

    C- Andris Biedrins

    PF- Al Harrington

    SF- Stephen Jackson

    SG- Corey Maggete

    PG- Monta Ellis

  11. he should because monta ellis is not a point guard.

  12. even though monta ellis is more of a combo gaurd, i think they will start him at the point...they got corey meggette for a reason (to fill the void davis left by letting ellis slide to pg, and meggette starting at sg)...unless they find a way to get rid of al harrington, and stephan jackson so meggette goes to sf with ellis at sg, i don't see williams starting...(i am kinda confused about the warriors situation...they drafted bellineli, wright, and have potential in randolph, and a decent player in azubuike, why sign megette?)

  13. No, Jackson is a team captain and leader.  He won't be the odd man out.  If Ellis wants to become a true superstar in the league, it will probably have to be at PG.  He is undersized for the SG position, which will ultimately limit his progress.  He can't really guard most larger SG which is a problem.  When Baron was on the team it wasn't really a huge deal, because Diddy was so strong, he could guard the SG and allow Ellis to guard the PG.  Williams is not the defender that Baron was, so that won't work in most situations.  I don't know Williams game that well, but it seems that NJ gave up on him pretty easily, so my expectations aren't too high.
