Front of the new house faces a small hill. back french doors have a view to kill for. I wanna carve out a place in the front (hill) for a fireplace and benches on either side of that and put down a tile floor in the front of the fireplace. and maybe something over the top like an arbor.. need ideas and some instructions. after buying the house I don't have alotta money left over.. help please.

  1. Do as much as you can yourself, like digging.

    Tile can be tricky and you need a Stone saw unless you don't plan on cutting pieces up.

    Wait till the end of Summer to buy benches, that's when they go on sale.

    If you have a Lowe's near you, get a Lowe's Credit Card and charge the stuff.  Depending on how much you spend, and if you pay it off on time, no Interest.

    You should be able to find instructions, along with a list of what you need to lay an outdoor floor.  You might want to purchase a Chimera instead of building a fireplace.  The tile floor might be better with brick, or mix-yourself concrete and poured into stepping-stone molds, which is cheapest.  You can use some downed trees for the benches, just sand them smooth and varnish with a marine varnish to keep them from rotting.
