Think ive just found a mosquito

i hav just killed wot i think is a lil mosquito with my trainer but before i killed it, it keept coming near me and landing on me. it has long leg a long think body a lil head and a long thin that sorta looks like one of its legs on its head is this a mosquito? can you get mosquitos in leeds? This is realy freacking me out cos now im paranoied about all flying things.

According to the HPA yes it could have been a mosquito.

What you have described is a mosquito,. here where we have a lot of mosquito it seem weird that someone would not know what one looked like.
