  1. It was on the beach...in Hawaii.

  2. Definitely the party!  It's all in the socialization and sharing of happiness between the wedding parties friends and family.  It's wonderful to watch the happy bride and groom dance and interact with all their friends and family and to know that your attendance is a major part of that.

  3. Dancing.

  4. There are two wonderful weddings that constantly stick out in my mind and both of them were very casual affairs for older couples.  One wedding had dancing and the other didn't, but in both cases I was really just impressed with how comfortable and welcome they made everyone feel.  The food was simple, but very good, and there wasn't a shortage.  As the couples made their rounds everyone felt like close family and it was obvious that they really loved each other.

  5. 1) The bride and groom have a blast together. Seeing them happy and having fun (not worrying) made the whole party fun.

    2) Dancing with a live band who plays fun music

    3) Lots of people who want to have a good time

  6. That everyone seemed to be relaxed and having a good time.  It seemed like everyone was on the dance floor and really enjoying themselves.

  7. Seeing friends that I hadn't seen in a long time - having fun eating and dancing with them.

  8. The more fellow guests I know, the more fun I have.  Everything else is pretty irrelevant.

  9. DJ and everyone having a good time on the dance floor.

  10. In one word. MONEY. The place was beautiful and there was a 7 course meal. Live band. The bathroom even had cute slippers for the women.

  11. not having any kids there.

  12. I went to a very "informal" wedding at a courthouse the couple was "eloping" they called us and had us meet them there on the day and then we went out for a family supper - no fuss no muss no elaboration just a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

  13. The things that I remember.....

The unique touches that the bride and groom included.  The wedding I'm thinking of, they had little bits of trivia about the bride and groom on each table... such as "Did you know that Kate & Tom first met after literally running into each other at the grocery store"  it was fun to check out each table to see the others.  It got the guests mingling and chatting as well.

The bride and groom also made everyone feel as if they were truly grateful that you made the time to celebrate with them, they made a point of going to every table and thanking you personally.

The DJ was asked to play music from the 40's through to todays music so that every person there could dance to something that they recognized.

  14. Several factors-

Great music variety (60s-present day) with a lot of dancing and energy among the guests.

Delicious food- nothing too "foofy", just good food.

    Open bar with top-shelf liquor

Keeping toasts to a minimum- no boring, long speeches or sappy nonsense

Good ratio of fast songs to slow songs (approx. 1 slow dance for every 5 fast songs.)

Good cake- I HATE when people do a wedding cake that is made of carrot cake, cheesecake, or any other type of cake that not everybody enjoys.

  15. The ceremony wasn't too long, the church wasn't too hot, the food was delicious, the drinks were free and the DJ was good!

  16. Unbelievably great live band! They were singing hits in 5 languages, all the great hits from all over the world. People just could not stay away from the dance floor. Even grandmas were dancing! By the way, besides the band, the bride and groom hired two professional dancers who were dancing in beautiful costumes and interacting with the crowd. It was awesome.

The band was expensive, but those guys totally made everyone’s day.

  17. Well, the best one is yet to be. And its gonna be mine. :d No,seriously!!

  18. 1) Bride and Groom's connection

    2) Good Music at ceremony and reception

    3) Food

  19. I went to a VERY fancy wedding in Vietnam (trust me, it's not as bad as you sound this is what the hotel looked like http://www.saigon.park.hyatt.com/hyatt/h...

It was absolutely AMAZING. and very expensive too. So I have to say, good food and good serivce.

  20. Easy, it was my wedding.

  21. it would have to have been my own wedding and it was enjoyable because it was very relaxed and kind of go-with-the-flow.  no formal sit down dinner, no paying for your own drinks, no having to wear a tie and jacket or dress if you didnt want to.  I really didnt care what happened as long as people enjoyed the day with us.

  22. 1) I knew lots of people there.

    2) It wasn't hot (I went to a wedding this past weekend and everybody ended up leaving early because it was so miserable!)

    3) It was informal and fun (lots to drink, plenty of fun music, everyone having a good time and mingling)
