Please dont say straight punches because thats what most martial arts teaches to have form and throwing wild crazy punches isnt havin form. Most fights that i have seen lasted 15 seconds then were broken up. Anyways the wild fighter fights like this.

Wild fighter : Throws punches sloppily. THrows flurries of haymakers and hooks . After each punch he puts his hand down and all the way back for maxium power.

Form Fighter : Fights with his guard up throws straight quick jabs . Never lets his guard down he punches and pulls his hand right back to the guard position.

I say wild fighter first no one is going to tire out most street fights or school fights ive seen last 15 seconds . One of the wild fighter hits are going to land and when they do it will to tremendous damage to the form fighter.

  1. you answered your own question there buddy.read what you said on form fighters.thats excatly right straight punches will when most of the time. there faster quicker and in some case do more damage the wild punching.

  2. the old saying is true the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.haymakers are what we call one shot kill and if you get hit by one goodnight..i got in a fight three days ago and the guy i that fought with had no skill at all and i could tell he was going to be sloppy swing anyway he could.you what i used was the old 1 2 3 jab, right cross, and the hook.it work.

  3. common sense tells you the straight puncher but you can never discount luck.any good martial artist can do a tremendous amount of damage in 15 seconds(more than most ppl can comprehend) someone who is untrained and swinging wild might do slight damage but are very unlikely to actually hurt someone other than by pure dumb luck.(ie:there opponent falls over and hit there head or somesuch).

  4. broken up after 15 secs? ur talking about a school fight where u just want to brag to ur friends about how u kicked this guys ***, while in fact all u did is hit is once or twice before the security and teachers pulled u apart, thats not a real fight its more of a popularity contest. haymakers work if the guy gets caught off guard or by surprise, but a form fighter who knows what he is doing can do just as much damage with a few well placed shots as a brawler might with +20 punches

  5. Depends on the fighters.  It doesn't matter if it's a straight punch or a haymaker, it depends on the skill of the person throwing the punch.  Wild fighters get beaten stupid most of the time because they have no idea how to swing, they can't take a punch too well, and most don't have the stamina for it.  That's why they like fights to be short.  They can't handle a long fight and they hope the fight gets broken up before they get too tired to defend themselves.

  6. If the so called "form fighter" really is trained, he knows to back away or side step from a wild punch and counter with a straight punch that will put the "wild fighter" down.  It's very easy to tire out a fighter who's wildy throwing punches and catch him off guard.  ANd you're so sure that one of the wild fighter hits are going to land...go watch the Chris Leben and Anderson Silva fight-that should answer your question for you.

  7. Martial artists also use swinging blows back fist hammer fist ridge hand horizontal elbow even a round house kick could be called a swinging strike.

Shortest distance to the target beats longest distance to the target.

Wild swinging looks scarier to your eyes so  you see it as more effective when what it really amounts to as hard slapping because the proper part of the fist rarely makes contact.
