  1. The answer to that question is probably dependent upon how deeply ensnared the individual is in Theological dogma of one sort or another.

Knowledge, in and of itself, is neither good nor bad.  But it can be used in ways and for purposes that are good or bad.

  2. I think there are proportionate times in history when humanity has come up against a knowledge "explosion" if you will...however, as we grow nearer to the cosmic "axis of knowledge", kind of like a time linear vs. advancement ratio, we can see we are closing in on an 'n'-time where we become infinitely more knowledgeable on a DAILY basis, if you can wrap your head around that...

Advances are coming at such a maddening pace, that as soon as something is discovered/created/invented/developed, the next - more robust, more profound segment comes with that...and that goes for our discoveries in multiple arenas, technical, agricultural, medicinal/pharmacological, building and construction, everything seems to be feeding from this "growth spurt" that has spawned from the tech. age inception. It crept along at first right after the industrial revolution, but has sped up considerably in the most recent years...but, in any of those fields, I think mankind asks questions about something before it has even left the inception phase...

It's almost, what I would think has been the only thing that mankind has of an edge over other animals...shame we can't seem to do right with most of that gift...too selfish and none like to share all too well in this playground side of the animal kingdom...

But, there is still hope in that we'll take what seems to be the next more painful step in the advancement of one area that seems to drag behind the rest...sociological. On that, mankind...good luck...good luck.

  3. Being a Human entails wondering about things! Asking questions about the construction of our environment, as much the internal as the external: this is how sciences like chemistry and medicin on the one hand and physics and astronomy on the other hand appeared.

There seems to be a doubt about the definition a the notion of the content of Human evolution, and I quess that this appeals to the effects of technology to our life with its harmus impacts, some times, to our life. But I do not think that science as much as its implementation by technology is purely a set of goals rather than a set of means. Thus, I think it is a matter of how we handle these means. Now, I would I agree with the core of the question set, when there is an invention out of the blue, that is to say, a harmus one, one that we had not predict so, we cannot handle it so it seems there is going to be a crisis because of it had not asked too many questions about thing... This is how I percieve this issue, and this is my answer. Thank you for reading.

  4. Yeah, since when. The technology age? People seem more shallow than ever. Is this a projection of your own thought process--because not everyone has the same conceptions! Good/bad um subjectivity? Now I'm thinking!

  5. Well, officially we have been in the "Information Age" for about a decade now. The Industrial Age was over 2 decades ago. I can't remember what was in the middle.

But the purpose of calling it the "Information Age" is because everything is now information "driven." You don't even go to your supervisor at work and make a suggestion for an improvement unless you can somehow show data that will back up your assumption that your idea is a good one. Or, management will go looking for that info itself.

Nothing but nothing gets done anymore without recourse to "information."

That's just the way it is, and eventually our capacity as humans to make use of all this info will catch up. Then we'll be glad we have it. It could be the start of a new Renaissance--or it could mean doom if we mismanage it.

I'd say right now we're on the brink of mismanagement. Look at all the illegal and immoral activities. I don't mean just the p**n. But that is mismanaged because it ought to have it's own ".p**n" instead of plastering it all over .com . If we want it we know where it is; we don't need to have it popping up accidently in front of our 10 year olds.

  6. The quest for knowledge isn't a bad thing.  How the knowledge is used, however, can be.
