Think again. I don't want to go into a **** load of detail, but I'll go with the basics. It takes over twice the amount of water and food to raise animals for food than plants. Do the research to get a lot more info.

  1. your statistics are wrong sir .

it does NOT take up to twice as much water

try up to 500 times as much water.

also, technically you can be an environmentalist and eat meat.

im sure you drive a car. or live in a house that contains at least one piece of plastic. maybe you buy veggies from Safeway, instead of local produce, or instead of growing your own... i see you own a computer, i hope your homescreen background is saveandsearch.com, also, i hope you wearing clothes from organic material that was produced in your township.

but you consider yourself an environmentalist. right?

although some of us eat meat. we are still trying to save the world in different ways.

    dont critisize your allies.

  2. My chickens wander around the lawn eating bugs and grass and weeds.   They drink out of any puddle they can find or the dog water.   If you want to come and eat the bugs, I'm sure they won't be too upset.

  3. I'm a vegetarian and I disagree. I don't eat meat because I disagree with how the meat industry works. However, I still believe that eating meat is "human"-- that much is obvious if we look at other species as well as our ancestors. If everyone led a vegetarian lifestyle, the cost of living would be much higher and animals would likely overpopulate and eventually die out.

  4. Of course you can. Not every environmentalist is an envirowacko. 'Moderation in all things' is a mantra many could do well to follow.

  5. not jus that, it also pollutes the earth. The meat industry causes more pollution than all the vehicles, airplanes and ships put together.

Im vegetarian, my family isnt, but they still try to be "green". I think that if everyone ate less meat (only what you "need") that would make a huge difference, but ofcourse, that will most likely never happen.

  6. I do not care to be your ally. You put too much stock in yourself. You also put all kind of rules on who is and who is not an environmentalist. You are not the one in charge of definitions. You are also part of the reason many people, who really do care about the Earth, refuse to be called environmentalists.

  7. Meat requires lots of land and resources to raise but I feel we all are capable of contributing to the environment in various ways and meat eaters may be better consumers/recyclers.

  8. Yes.

    Eat people!

  9. Absolutely. The American Indians were always great environmentalist and were meat eaters. They killed only to eat and used by products to survive.

I eat meat and I love the land, maybe more than most vegetarians. Because on eats meat does not put him at odds with the land.

Even Noah loaded the animals two by two and seven by seven of those to be eaten.

  10. Nah i don't think they can be. But if they think so then theres no stopping them! = )

  11. I think you're flying a false flag.  No environmentalist would say something so stupid, as it would only push people away from environmentalism.

  12. alright then

  13. yes you can, but it takes more effort than just buying a burger at the local McDonald's. Read some info about Joel Salatin. Big time environmentalist, has a smaller footprint than most of us, and raises and eats meat. But he does it in a way that actually improves the land that he uses.

  14. Utter rubbish.

Eating meat is natural, what you are actually complaining about is the manner in which that meat is farmed.

    Both totally different issues.

You are the one that needs to do the research before you make yourself look a fool asking questions that are a contradiction.

  15. That is not exactly a correct statement.

Meat is a much more concentrated energy source. Eating meat will reduce other food consumption.  It is just that Americans eat too much of everything to start with and then we spent Billions to lose those excessive weight.

Also, not all animals take excessive energy to farm.  For example, cold blood animals like fish and reptile takes far less energy and water to farm than land based mammals like Cows.  So, let us start eat more alligators.
