  1. i been there.

    yes it is safe

  2. Vietnam is one of the safest countries I have been to. Friendly people, no creepie crawlies, even budget accommodation is good quality, Don't spend money on fancy hotels, cheaper guest houses are excellent and you get a better feel for people / Definately visit Hochi min city, Hanoi, NaTrang(Beach resort). Have a great trip!!

  3. I saw no "creepie crawalie" or snakes the whole three weeks I was there and I traveled all over Vietnam from  the smallest village to the largest cities (I logged almost 2000 miles).

I saw only beautiful landscapes, clean and well furnished hotels and restaurants, amazing historical sites, new high rise, modern buildings, clean and modern airplanes and trains, the cars there are newer and cleaner than in the US (yes, that's true).

The people were courteous, friendly and helpful (and very fashionanably dressed). English is the most popular foreign  language there and you can get CNN, BBC and HBO cable channels almost everywhere. The food is the best this side of heaven and so inexpensive!

Vietnam is one of the safest, if not THE safest, country for tourists or anyone else who comes there. It is also a country with the highest economic growth in the world, second only to China. The people are so busy working to build a prosperous and modern nation, there're virtually no thieves and no beggars anywhere.

President Bush was there for the APEC summit meeting in November and, after having spent a few hours at the Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)  Stock Exchange, he remarked to the American and Vietnamese businessmen in the hall:"If I were still a young man; I'll move here to Vietnam to live". Shortly thereafter, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrived in Vietnam to spent Christmas with their children. They said they had a great time.

By the way, my family and I are coming to Vietnam this fall for a few weeks. We can't wait to  stay at a  Mui Ne luxury beach resort near Phan Thiet and also the Vinpearl Resort near Nha Trang, just up the coast.

Rather than being terrified, you should be ecstatic and thank your husband for taking you on a trip to Paradise.
