It's a great price and the only thing it really needs is central heat and air. It's about 1500 sq foot (two story). How much do you think it will cost to install C H&A? I live in Oklahoma...I can't afford to run off window units!

  1. Depends on the house construction. If it is a one story house with an attic you can easily put the duct work in the attic and have the vents in the ceiling. Thats what one of the previous owners of my house did. The main duct is rigid and they used flexible duct work to go to each individual vent.

If you have a two story house it is going to be more difficult and expensive...even more so if you don't have a crawl space.

I can't really estimate cost since it will depend on the size of the unit you put in. You should get a couple of estimates before putting a bid on the house. Consider getting a 'ground source' heat pump. They cost more for the initial install, but can save you a bunch on your bills each month.
