  1. The Impreza WRX is one of the 10 most expensive vehicles to insure.. be sure to call your insurance agent to check the rates before you make your decision.

  2. 1. Premium-It has a turbo engine.

    2. Very high insurance rates.

    3. Very reliable. Probably the 3rd most reliable brand in the world. Honda being #1.

    4. Average 25mpg.

    5. This is a great car. AWD, reliable, 227HP, fun to drive, high resale value.

  3. Good car

Will run on regular but likes premium

As far as insurance, you need to get quotes from your local insurance dealer.....they need to know a bunch of personal info for a proper quote

    Private shops will repair them

    MPG should be around 23-28mpg

  4. I'm on my third one and love them very much.  Power and ride are great and they have one of the best AWD systems on the market.  I modify mine quite a bit but in all the years, I have never taken any of them in to have work done.  If maintained properly, they can be every bit as reliable as a Honda or Toyota but if you are buying used, make sure they have proof of all scheduled maintenance.  It does require premium fuel but is a couple dollars a tank really going to make that much a difference?  Trust me it's worth it.  I get about 25.5mpg mixed driving.  Insurance is not cheap but depends on your area.  I have a wagon now and the insurance is quite a bit cheaper than the last sedan I had so that might be something to think about.  Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about Subaru in general.  None of my car have let me down yet.

  5. Calamity is right and you can thank all of the wannabe racers that buy these cars for that. My neighbors parent's own a tow yard. They started towing WRXs and EVOs in within months of each of them being released. It sucks because it makes this car look bad to skilled driver's. By the way, Premium is mandatory. You should never run a turbocharged or supercharged car on anything other than premium gas. You will cause engine knocking and a major loss in acceleration and fuel economy.

  6. 1. It takes minimum 91 (you will lose some power and the car might detonate occasionally ).  93 and higher is best

    2. For a WRX wagon insurance is the same as any other car (~100/mo for me.. married clean record)

    3. no, i do the work myself or go to a trusted local shop that works on subaru only

    4. 7.5mpg if I am at the track, 22.5mpg in mixed driving, 28mpg absolutely best highway mileage

    5. My 02 WRX was a lot of fun.  I liked it very much, but I have 2 negative things to say about the car.  a) In the '02 wrx wagon that I had there was very little soundproofing and the clutch was very heavy.  The car was a hardcore performance car with a big trunk.  This can be annoying sometimes.  b) maintenance is pretty pricey.  Oil changes every 3750 miles, tire rotations every 7500miles, gear oil changes every 15000 miles.  It is a turbo performance car, so expect higher than average upkeep costso

Personally, if I had to do things all over again, I would try to get a STi instead of a WRX.  might as well get max performance if you have to live with a hardcore car.   Or I would get Saab 92-X Aero.  It comes with nice wheels, HID lights, leather seats and more soundproofing, so it is much easier to live with

I don't think you will regret getting a WRX.  I have a new 3 series now and I still miss my WRX sometimes
