Question:

Thinking about changing careers.. Should I?

I am working 60 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, selling and managing a car lot. I would love to stay here, but there are so many things keeping me from staying. No time with my wife, too much stress, and making $5000-$6000 per month is not really that much when you have expenses. What should I do?

  1. Making 5-6K a month is excellent.  No matter what position you go to, you will still have expenses and it's a trade off.  No stress - no salary.  Perhaps your expenses are the reason for the stress.  You might want to consider debt counseling from an authorized company.  (not the type you see on TV).. do some research on the internet and look into it further.  Also, make the time... if you manage the lot, you have other employees.  Set a day each week or bi-weekly to have another take over so you and your wife can spend some "quality time" together.

  2. Car lots should turn a lot more than 5-6k a month.  Are there 10 cars?  You need to hire help, get a loan and expand.

  3. go for a new career. im working on one. i couldnt take it anymore making 9.25 an hour with 40 hours a week and not ever being home. my other job i make 12.00 an hour i work 40 hours.

they both suck and im going to college to make more money with a new career.
