Thinking about clear retainers?

i have regualr retainers right now, that have the wire but when school starts i dont want to have to wear them so im thinking about getting clear retainers.

how much do clear retainers cost and where can i get them?

My orthodontist gave them to me instead of normal retainers. I think the plastic they use is pretty expensive though (perhaps up to $400 for top and bottom), and you need to be really careful with them. Dont leave them in sunlight or other direct heat as they can melt. One guy i heard of, brought in his case to the surgery after leaving the case in his glove box and the retainer had melted completely.

Nevertheless, they are fairly discreet and they so look good, except you still need to take them out when eating and such.
