im looking at a 2005 S60 with 36K miles. The price is $16,000. I have an antique Volvo and I want a new one. A family member of mine has a S80 and I like it. Anyone who has had a S60, what could I expect as far as repairs?

  1. the car is very good and reliable. never had problem with it.

  2. it's cool , but the T5 model isn't thrilling , unless you look at the S60 R model .

  3. I own a 2003 S60 and it's been an amazing car.

I have not had to do any repairs except the basics...brakes, etc.

The parts seem to be much cheaper than they use to be as far as the older Volvo models go.

Sounds like you will get it at a good price as well.

Just be careful around the doors...they dent like a peach..not sure why they've designed the car this way.

All in all, this is a great car, I love mine.

  4. The S80 is more a smooth ride executive type of car where the S60 is setup more sporty with a firmer ride and handling.

I have the 2.0T (2003) and it's the best car I've ever had.

I have travelled 30,000 miles in it now and all I have had to replace on it are: tyres, brakes, rubber top engine mount bush & power steering resevoir (small plastic bottle).

I would recommend the car without hesitation.

There is some great advice on there.

My last full service cost £150 ($300)

  5. Get the R - if I were to get a sedan I'd get one.

  6. you can expect to be driving around in a car with wiggly motor mounts and paint that's afraid of wax and addicted to bird p**p and not finding parts anywhere except the dealer who can order them for you by next Hanuka and get them in time for next years Christmas. I can buy a lot of good used cars for that kind of money and get parts for them right around the corner. Ever notice you never see a man and a woman in a Volvo? That oughta' tell you something right there. Them sure aint no chick gitters' ;) How about a Chevy?
