Thinking about going blonde...?

Question

Well I've been thinking for a while about going blonde in some areas, so not all of my hair would be fully blonde.

so 3 questions:

first what kind of lightener should I use?

what kind of toner?

and any advice?

by the way i dyed my hair in january to a dark brown, its

now faded to a medium brown tone.

if you do decide to dye your hair,

make sure you get it done by a professional.

otherwise it will look trashy.

i don't know the answers to all your questions, but i use this toner shampoo that i got from my hairdresser. it's called Quantum Toning Shampoo and it's a dark purple color, it's great stuff! If you can't find that exact brand, don't fret, just go to a salon and ask them if they sell purple toning shampoo. it's great for blonde!

I would suggest to start out with a few blonde highlights. My favorite hair lightener is Wella Blondor Creme hair bleach. You should mix this in a 1:1 ratio with a 20 volume developer or 30 volume developer ( depending on how light you want to go) from your local beauty supply store. Wella Blondor eliminates the orange or brassy tones that some other bleaches leave behind...it also tends to not wreck as much havoc on your hair as some other lighteners. If you want to go really light it is important to get the hair to the inside color of a banana peel...if you want a darker blonde be sure that the bleach mixture has processed long enough on your hair so that the orange and red tones have been lifted.

As far as toners for blonde hair I love Wella Color Charm toners for blonde hair. They come in a variety of shades and your beauty supply store should have swatches for you to choose from to get the shade you want.
