I am currently in the 11th grade in Alabama. I am possibly thinking about doing home school my 12th grade year. I would like to complete my 12th grade year faster than i could in a normal public school if that is possible. I was wondering how I could do this? Can i take all of my classes online? How exactly would the credits I already have be affected and how would they transfer over?

Thnx to all people who answer

  2. You can look up a self-paced curriculum that is offered online that you are interested in. You might find an online charter school that you would officially enroll in (although you would do the assigned schoolwork at home.) That way, you would earn credits just like in a normal high school.

If you can't find one in your area and if you're willing to pay for courses, there are some places that offer courses for a fee. One good example is Missouri University High School (see http://cdis.missouri.edu/high-school.asp... The center is located in Missouri, but you don't have to live there. I have taken a number of their courses and sped through them. Another one you might check out (but also have to pay for) is Keystone National High School (http://www.keystonehighschool.com/), with whom I've also taken classes.

    Good luck in your search!

  3. Hi,

It is possible to complete your last year of school faster. If you do not return to high school next fall, make sure you ask for your transcript.

When you homeschool, your parents can create/add to your transcript and you will not lose any credits.

You may want to look into dual credit - you can complete your high school diploma and earn college credit at the same time.

You can get up to 6 credit for some courses when you do this!

You will save time... and money on college tuition too.

(Don't forget to check the homeschooling and high school requirements for your state.)

If you like to learn online, that is definitely a possibility. You can also take classes at your local community college, or there are many homeschool enrichment programs that offer high school classes. You would do the work at home and meet once - or twice a week. (Great for chemistry labs, etc.)

You sound very mature and responsible. If you can learn independently and are diligent, you will transition easily, find success and graduate early! :)

If you need any other help, feel free to contact me.

    Good Luck!

  4. Are you thinking about doing it through a college's extension program?  If so, ask them if you could earn your diploma through them, by transferring all of your credits to their school.

Otherwise, certain school districts allow their students to complete courses at home as long as they take so many classes at their school.

These types of programs usually allow you to complete courses online or by postal mail; it really depends on the program and the courses you need to take.  Sometimes, you can take some college courses for dual credit (high school and college credit), and really do two things at once.

    I hope this helps!

  5. go to flvs.net maybe that can help you.

  6. My advice would  be to talk with your board of education, they usually can answer anything you need .
