  1. one of the best sites for information is ireland.gov, it is full of useful information such as housing, government, how and who may become an irish citizen. what it takes to get a work permit over there.......or just go to your tool bar and type in ireland and it will bring up a multitude of sites loaded with info.....hope this helps

  2. Be very rich because taxes are outrageous and it is very difficult to live there if you aren't independently wealthy

  3. Jobs are abundant and well-paying in Ireland; but the price of housing is though the roof.   My friend had a home built in County Kerry twelve years ago for $80k and it's now worth $350k, and it's just a basic two-story on a tiny lot.

I've been to Ireland twice (I'm an American too) and there's no doubt whatsoever that you will adore it.   The people are wonderful and it's absolutely beautiful.    But I strongly suggest a vacation there with the intention of checking out the real estate market.    And I wouldn't even think about Dublin: my friends say that a million dollars won't get you a place that you could safely leave your car in front of.

  4. You can live and work any where in Ireland. I am in the north and a student photographer I have an 11 year old daughter who goes to school here and loves it. There is a great way of life here it is quite relaxed. there are a few good photo agency's in Belfast. The price of houses are rising continuously. And our super markets and greengrocers are also good feel free to contact me by E-mail of you need more info.

  5. I would love to move to Ireland! Dublin probably.

  6. If u are thinking of moving here, u will need to be very comfortable financially, as u would need to be if u were thinking of starting up in most countries. It is a very expensive country to live in. I would say that you're highest earning potential would be in Dublin, however real estate here is ridiculously expensive. Check out www.propertypartners.ie

With a good start up capital u will probably have little trouble starting a business. There is a lot of job potential for an independent photographer. Or if u were looking to join an already established company, then i would suggest u take a look at www.irishjobs.ie.

Other than this u should have no major problems. We are a multi-cultural society, who welcome people from all walks of life. U should have no trouble fitting in over here.

Good luck with whatever u decide to do.. I hope it all works out.

  7. Dublin would b a gd place 2 move but beware house prices r going up nd up. If u want 2 buy a house mre out in the country bt not in the middle of nowhere it shud b cheaper! Average price of aroun 150,000 - 250/300,000! Hope this helps!

P.S. u shud check the net. Try google ireland!

  8. I have a friend who is Irish and also an independent photographer, he mainly works in London but lives in Ireland. My advice would be to take a trip for a month or so in the off season and decide from there, personally I like Donegal there are a few Americans living where I'm from and seem to like it.
