Any experience with that? What did you charge? Did they mess the place up or abuse it?

  1. We used to do this many years ago with class C motor homes and we were charging $199.00 a day or $1000.00 a week with a $500.00 deposit and a contract just like a car rental place use.

The renters were responsible for their own insurance because this was too expensive to offer through our insurance company.

Renters were responsible for draining the sewage tanks prior to returning the unit and the gas tank had to be full just the way that they got it.

Yes some were brought back in very bad shape and some of them used up their complete $500.00 deposit and more.

The main reason that we stopped was because we had to take some of the renters to civil court because of the damages that they did and this got old very quick.

    Rules...

    1. Don’t rent to anyone that is under the age of 30.

    2. Verify their insurance by calling the insurance company.

    3. Have a contract ready that explains everything in "FULL" detail and they must sign it along with all others that might be driving it.

    4. The deposit must be in "CASH" only and no exceptions.

    5. Verify their drivers license as well as with all others that might be driving it.

    6. Take pictures of the unit before they leave and take pictures after they return.

    7. Do a complete inspection on the unit as well as taking the renters on a test drive both before and after to first explain how everything works and to check that the unit drives correctly after their trip.

  2. 1.  Insurance for a rental MH will be HIGH!

#2.  If a renter trashes your MH, you probobly ahve to pay for the restoration out of pocket (might mot be covered with insurance).

#3.  Your mileage rate fee would have to be quite high.  I'd think about $1.00 per mile (U.S.).

I'd check with a local MH rental business and see if you might lease it to them.  I think you'd get a better deal.  They should be able to carry your MH on their fleet insurance plan.
