Question:

Thinking about running away?

I have been having a lot of problems with my parents lately, and I am really upset. It often affects my mood, how I act, my grades, etc. I dont wanna go into detail, but it's pretty bad. What do you think about running away? Where would I go? What happens if you get caught? What job could a 13 year old get? Where would I live? Help...

  1. Ya, I agree.  Do not run away.  Please call

1-800-RUNAWAY,  or talk to your school counselor and explain what you are feeling.  They can give you tools to work through this.  Just walk in the office one day and ask if you can speak to the school counselor.  The front office ladies can sometimes be intimidating but hey, my tax dollars are the reason they have a job so how dare they!  But hopefully your front office ladies are nice and will say "sure, just a moment."    They might ask a few questions and just be honest.  They might just change your life!

If you still don't feel comfortable doing this, try talking to a favorite teacher before or after class.  They can give you good advice.

Also, sometimes the best thing to do is tell your best friend and he/she can see if you can stay with them for a while.

Only pick a healthy household to go to - no more drama needed for you!

If you run away, you are sleeping wherever you can hide.  You don't have a place to take a shower, wash your hear, brush your teeth.  Even if you did find a place with water, do you have a towel?  How are you going to wash and dry your clothes and underwear and towel?   Any guy sees you, you have a high change of rape, regardless if you are a male or female.  You can easily get bullied around by gang members or any other bully out there who will force you do things you most likely don't want to do.

This is how people get into prostitution and/or drugs.  You can't get a job at 13 so you will get offered large sums of cash to prositute yourself.  That means sexual duties for money.  Don't go there!  When  you do get a real job, you have to pay taxes. You won't have an address to get your tax info.

There are a ton of reasons you don't run away.  It's just not smart even if you feel desperate.

  2. well since you are RUNNING away i suggest you carb up and get some good stretching in first. Mae sure you keep a good pace so you can go far without getting caught.

  3. You should not run away..

    I did when i was 8..

It causes a lot of trouble

The police get involed and it cost money.

Why dont you ask your parnets if you can live with a friend for awhile until everything settles down.

  4. I have run away in the past... the police were called and I fought them. Of course... me, being eight at the time got roughed up, but also, it saved me from charges. Running away sucks, just take pride in what you have that other people don't. Lol... or just make fun of our parents..

  5. ur 2 young, just stay home life is like a roller coaster it has its ups and downs, i remember i was having trouble at home and i felt like c**p i know  how it feels, but just leave it alone and wait for ur life to get better, it might be low right now but it can only get better stay strong it will get better

  6. Dont run away sweetie. Think about it-unless your parents are beating/raping/molesting you-you really dont have a need to run away.

They love you absolutely-this would hurt everyone in your family's hearts if you just disappered. Your not going through anything-think about it-you have a home/clothing/food/ and people who love you.

Stay home and talk to your parents about how you feel-Im sure you guys can work it out. Think about this-there are people who run away from home to get away from abuse-there are people who run away from home because someone wants to kill them (take certain villages in Africa) and you want to run away because of an argument?

    Stay home-honor thy mother & father-stay home....
