Thinking about sending a gift with resume ??

How would you feel if you receive a resume with a gift card attached. I am trying to get this job i want and thinking perhaps this is somewhat of a good idea ?? comments and suggestions appreciated....

ohhh ...not a good idea.  Most places with any sort of business would look at that as a bribe...and that is not looked highly upon.

as a person who just graduated with my bachelors in public relations, we had studies on ethics, and this would NOT be a good ethical way to get a job. in fact, you may turn someone completely off by sending anything, it would be a bribe,

Quite inappropriate. Most any in charge of hiring will either pocket it, or will simply return it saying gifts are not allowed.

To send a giftcard sounds far too much like a bribe--or worse--makes you look desperate. Although you may be, it is not good to show it.

Let your qualifications and a really sharp cover letter speak for itself.

I think that would be really inappropriate. Besides, alot of companies are not allowed to accept gifts from employees or job applicants anyway so it would probably be frowned upon rather than appreciated.

Very inappropriate. Just send the resume with decent cover letter. Including a gift card makes it look like a bribe- which it is.

Besides, there is no guarantee that the right person for whom the card is intended would receive it.  Resumes pass through many hands along the way.

Now if you think about it, no disrespect, that's just a bad idea. Good thought on paper, but I actually own a business, now don't get me wrong, we love when you suck up, it makes us feel powerfull. But sending a gift makes you look desperate for a job, which Is generally similar to being looked as a turnoff. Looking desperate for a job is never a good thing, trust me, bad idea.
