  1. Prince is the best or Wilson or Calloway they all have the right amount to take there plus there the best and top of the line

    P.S. Congratulations

  2. There are a lot of clubs you can use, but if you want to begin to play golf well and not simply thrash around, I recommend a pretty new way to improve fast. Go to most any golf retailer and check out the almostGolf ball. Its a new practice ball with CO2 inside and allows you to hit real shots around the neighborhood, park, schoolyard or any open space. This allows you to swing the sticks every day. And if you swing the sticks just 20 minutes a day, you will develop a swing a lot faster than a driving range.

Check them out. Almostgolf balls are great.

  3. I would say the borrowed kind for now or maybe the walmart kind. If I were you though i would go to a local thrift store or consignment shop and look for old sets there. That'll get you going.

  4. Start out with a beginner's set from Wal-Mart.  There's no need to spend a whole lot of money to begin with.  Once you get the basics down, you can invest in a better brand of golf clubs.

  5. Talk to your club pro.  He should probably have some demo clubs that you can first try on the range.  Once you find something that you like see whether you can get a set through the golf course.  Most better courses offer employees a decent discount.

  6. First thing, 14 clubs is the maximum - there is no minimum. Dont worry about filling the bag right away.

I'm not going to teach you to 'suck eggs' if you already caddy, I'm assuming you know what the clubs are for.

Get a set of cavity-back irons as your first purchase. Definitely NOT a set of forged blades. A set from 4-iron to sand wedge (SW) will do to get you started. Recommend something like Callaway Big Bertha irons, which are very forgiving.

You can find decent sets on ebay if you dont want to buy new. Be aware that big brands (Callaway, Ping, Taylormade, Nike, etc) will hold their value better if you decide to stop playing and get rid of them.

A 3- and 5- wood will be handy for off the tee or for long fairway shots. I wouldnt bother with a driver if you're just starting, as aside from a set of irons, they are the most expensive purchase and considerd the hardest clubs to hit

    well for beginners

    And dont forget a putter!
