Question:

Thinking about studying abroad in Granada, Spain?

Has anybody studied abroad here?? if so can you tell me what you liked and disliked about it??? Im serious about learning spanish and their culture so i fel being in a smaller city would probably do better for me but I also want to be somewhere where it can be fun and there are things to do...Please help me out thanks

  1. I haven't studied there, but you may want to know that a dialect is spoken in there. It is not that different from what you have learnt, but it is quite hard at the beggining -they would say 'casserola' instead of 'cacerola' or things like that. Writing is the same as you learned in school, but trust me, speaking would be a little different.

    Regarding the people, they are very nice and welcoming. The weather is awesome and the city is small enough to walk around. Close to the mountains and the beach. The Alhambra is a must see.

    Having said this, if I were you -and knowing that you want to go to a small city- I would choose something a little bit northern, maybe Salamanca or Zaragoza. They're both small cities. Climate is not as good, but besides that, you'll be fine. No dialect spoken in there and you'd be closer to Madrid and Barcelona. Think about it.

  2. i've never studied in granada -- however,  it's a great walking town!!!!!   on the smaller side, close to many easy to get to interesting places,  great food & culture!!!

    go there -- you can't lose!!!
