Question:

Thinking about trying contacts again?

Back when I was 16 I tried out contact lenses, but I couldn't get them in my eyes. My eyes just shut closed whenever I tried to touch them. I'm 19 now, and I'm thinking about them again. Do you think I should try it again, and does anyone have any advise about how to get my eyes to stay open?

  1. No one can help you control your blink reflex except yourself. You get used to it every quickly - for me, it took me 3 days. I can take pop them on and them off with no problem now.

I'm 16 and I've just started on them a month ago. I remember the exact thing which happened - causing me to lose my patience and I was on the verge of giving up.

You should, by all means, try again. Be patient as this is the key. I done that and it helped.

If putting in the contacts or removing them triggers your blink reflex, look in the mirror then after your contact is lined up with your eye, try looking to your side or stare ahead while doing it. I personally find it easier if I stared ahead but everyone is different so you will need to do trial and error.

I hope this has helped and good luck! :)

    Don't give up!
