Thinking about university of melbourne for graduate school?

Question

I'm currently in my second year at a university in the US and really want to go to Melbourne, Australia, and the University of Melbourne is a great school in what appears to be an incredible city. Has anyone gone there or been to Melbourne? Can you tell me more about it?

Yeah university of Melbourne is qutie a cool school. But it depends on what you want to do there. From what I know, it is mainly famous for architecture. If you intend to pursue something in the engineering line, I think the schools in US would be a much better choice. If you intend to pursue something in business finance, I think you should pick a college in Asia as that is where the projected future of markets will be. Nanyang Technological University in Singapore has quite a good MBA program.

A little bit about the school. It is located close to town. There are no trains close to it( well walking distance but it takes around 15 to 20 mins) However, trams do stop right in front of the university.

Accommodation wise shouldnt be a problem there are dorms or if you prefer you can rent a room or share a flat with a friend.

Food is great, it is next to Lygon street which is famous for good food, so you'll never starve.

Compared to Monash ( another college in Melbourne) the facilities are older ( but they have a track, Monash doesnt) and I think the library books are older as well. Anyways, but yeah, I would give a higher rating to Melbourne U. The overall atmosphere feels really awesome with its old buildings. The lecturers are quite good as well ( at least the architecture lectures, i only attended those)

dear frd,its a very nice uni.its present world ranking is 24.its a dream 4many stdnts around world to study there...so wht r u waiting 4?? i have applied 4 sydney uni(31 world ranking) which also very nice..u can also try 4dat if  u r an arts stdnt bcoz its world ranking is world 5th for art departments..
