Animals use languages that man just can't understand perfectly yet.  I swear my dog knows what I'm saying and is clearly trying to tell me he thinks I'm a real moron sometimes.

early humans lived in small groups, made of males, females and their offspring.

Men would go looking for meat, fresh if possible, and they had to call each other to the place of the good meat, which they did by grunting out loud and screaming.

women would go looking for fruit, and they had to call each other to the next fruit tree, which they did by chatting and clicking.

that is about all they evolution of speech that was necessary, and since than men grunt and scream and women chat and click.
